Only ten days before the inauguration of President elect Barack Obama, InField Systems was contacted to provide a mission critical task - get to DC in two days to provide marshaling yard surface for all inauguration equipment and supplies.
Most of the equipment and supplies for the inauguration were coming in large trucks that could not go directly to the site of the inauguration known as The Mall. Inauguration producers identified Roosevelt Park as a potential marshaling area. Here they could offload large trucks onto smaller trucks that could get in and out of The Mall. However Roosevelt Park's undulating ground was far from ideal - the wet ground would become an impassable mud pit within one hour of marshaling operations.
In a matter of two days, InField assembled the site crew and got five truckloads of product in place for this monumental task. Kail Ghigo led a team of 24 people that built the marshaling yard as well as two other roadways on The Mall. The marshaling yard was built using the Matrix Panel System. The 70,000 square feet area hosted an extensive operation with hundreds of trucks cross-loading on the temporary tarmac.
Doing amazing things requires smart and dedicated operations combined with best-in-class products. With experienced site managers and products like Matrix, InField Systems is uniquely capable to do extraordinary things.
